As recall has become a part of the new Framework Directive 2007/46/EC, RDW has been appointed to organize and supervise this process within The Netherlands. If there are safety issues with automotive parts or vehicles you should inform us.

The manufacturer should mention in the recall procedure according to framework directive 2007/46/EC that the type approval authority will be notified in case of a safety item related recall. The notification to the type approval authority and to other Member States can be done at the following website:

http://ec.europa.eu/consumers/safety/rapex/index_en.htm

Under "Operational guidelines (business level)" the business application can be found, as well as a lot of information regarding recall. With this application the type approval authority is informed because of the fact that the type approval number should be mentioned.
One of the approved bodies will decide if it should be mentioned on RAPEX, normally the Member State in which the headquarters is settled"
