Alcohol Interlock Programme (AIP)
The Dutch cabinet intends to introduce an ‘Alcohol Interlock Programme’ (AIP) in the near future. In mid July 2008 the cabinet decided to introduce the alcohol interlock programme.
The Second Chamber (lower house) and the First Chamber (upper house) have accepted the legislation. The cabinet aims at starting the programme in 2011. Realisation of this starting date depends on decision-making on the legislation by the Parliament.
