Diesel particulate filter

As of 1 July 2006 it is possible for owners of registered passenger vehicles and light commercial vehicles (< 3500 kg) with a diesel engine, to equip their vehicle with a diesel particulate filter.

To acquire a national type-approval, the diesel particulate filter must be tested. The technical requirements are the same as the requirements in Germany, with the exception that in the Netherlands small commercial vehicles (< 3500 kg) may participate in the grant scheme. Another exception is the checking of the Conformity of Production, COP. An English translation of the technical requirements will be available soon on the website www.vrom.nl/roetfilters.

You can request the application for the national type-approval by sending an e-mail to the Administrative department of TGK (a&r@rdw.nl).

This application must contain the following documents:

1.      Agreement for testing a diesel particulate filter

2.      Application for COP-including appendices

3.      Application form

4.      Order form for issuing approvals/tests

5.      Information document

6.      Prüfbericht/Test report including German type-approval (if applicable)
