Checking your pilot licence and operator details

We keep a record of certain details about drone pilots and owners. You can review your own details for free.

Here is how to review your details

Click ‘Review pilot licence details’ and sign in with DigiD to check your pilot licence details. You will also find your pilot licence in the RDW Vehicle App.

Click ‘Review operator details’ and sign in with DigiD or eHerkenning (operator number in a company’s name). Keep your business registration number ready if signing in as a company. You can find the number on the excerpt or website of the Chamber of Commerce (KvK). A business registration number is not mandatory if you don't have one.

Would you like to update your details? Click the ‘Update’ button once signed in to update your details. You will receive confirmation of the update by e-mail. The validity period of your pilot licence or operator number will stay the same.

You must be able to present your pilot licence while flying, either in printed form or on your mobile phone. You can load and view your pilot licence in our RDW Vehicle App.

Conditions for using the app

You have an Android phone, version 11.0 or higher. The vehicle app with the pilot licence is currently unavailable on iPhone (iOS).
You have the (latest version) of the RDW Vehicle App on your phone. You can download and install it on your phone through the Google Playstore.
You have activated your personal ‘wallet’ in the RDW Vehicle App.

This is how it works

If you want to use the pilot licence in the RDW app, you will need the DigiD app with the ID check activated. The DigiD website offers a practical step-by-step guide. How to use your pilot licence in the RDW Vehicle App:

Open the RDW Vehicle App on your (Android) phone.
Go to ‘wallet’ in the app.
Activate your wallet if using it for the first time and configure a 5-digit PIN. Optionally, set up biometric security such as fingerprint or face scan.
Sign into your wallet, using your configured PIN (and optional biometric security).
Sign in with DigiD to add your pilot licence to the app.
Once signed in with the DigiD app, your pilot licence is available in your wallet.
