PTI inspection schedule

You can read here how often en when your vehicle is due for an APK test (PTI). If you want to know exactly when your vehicle is due for an APK-test, do the RDW-registration number check.
    • Passenger cars with an unladen weight of up to 3,500 kg
    • Light commercial vehicles with a maximum permitted mass of up to 3,500 kg
    • Three-wheel motor vehicles above 400 kg and with a unladen weight of up to 3,500 kg.
    • Is the maximum permitted mass of the vehicle more than 3500 kg? Please refer to heavy vehicles. 
    Date of first registration Fuel type When is your vehicle due for inspection? Frequency
    Vehicle not older than 30 years  Petrol, alcohol and/or electric engine First time before the vehicle is 4 years old. After that, before the expiration date of the last APK. 4-2-21
    Vehicle not older than 30 years Diesel, gas or other (possibly in combination with electric) First time before the vehicle is 3 years old. After that, before the expiration date of the last APK.  3-1-1
    Vehicle of 30 years or older All types If the vehicle is 30 years or older, the APK test is due every 2 years. 2-2-2
    Vehicle of 50 years or older All types If the vehicle is 50 years or older, the APK test is no longer required.
    		 No PTI obligation

    Date of first registration When is your vehicle due for inspection? Frequency
    Vehicle not older than 50 years First time before the vehicle is 1 year old. After that, before the expiration date of the last APK. 
    		 1-1-1
    Vehicle of 50 years or older  The vehicle is 50 years or older? The APK test is no longer required.. No PTI obligation
    • all fuel types
    Date of first registration When is your vehicle due for inspection? Frequency
     All registration dates First time before the vehicle is 1 year old. After that, before the expiration date of the last APK. Is the last APK-test valid for a longer period? (this is possible for vehicles that are not taxis)In that case, after 1 year.              1-1-1
    • all fuel types
    Date of first registration When is your vehicle due for inspected? Frequency
    Vehicle not older than 50 years First time before the vehicle is 1 year old.After that, before the expiration date of the last APK.  1-1-1
    Vehicle of 50 years or older The vehicle is 50 years or older? The APK test is no longer required.
    		 No PTI obligation
