Terminating a vehicle registration

Is your vehicle no longer on public roads because you are going to use it for, for example, the cross or for education? Then you can end the registration of that vehicle in our vehicle register. In that case, you do not pay motor vehicle tax, you do not need insurance and you do not need to comply with the APK obligation (PTI or MOT).

Is your vehicle abroad, has it been scrapped or do you want to scrap it? Then read the information on our website about export and scrapping. In those cases, you must follow other steps to end the registration of your vehicle.

  • Do you want to terminate the registration because you have scrapped or exported the vehicle? You cannot cancel the registration for these reasons with the forms on this page. Go to the information on this website about demolition or export.
