PTI inspection schedule

The PTI inspection schedule shows you when you must take your vehicle for a PTI inspection for the first time.

Passenger cars (with an unladen weight of up to and including 3,500 kg) and light commercial vehicles (with a maximum permitted mass of up to and including 3,500 kg)

Three-wheel motor vehicles above 400 kg and with a unladen weight of up to and including 3,500 kg.

After 1 January 2005 Petrol, alcohol and/or electric engine First PTI after 4 years (before PTI expiry date), and then twice after 2 years (before PTI expiry date), and then every year (before PTI expiry date)
After 1 January 2005 Diesel, gas or other (possibly in combination with electric) First PTI after 3 years (before PTI expiry date), and then every year (before PTI expiry date)
Before 1 January 2005, vehicle not more than 30 years old All types First PTI after 3 years (before PTI expiry date), and then every year (before PTI expiry date)
