* If your vehicle doesn't (yet) satisfy the legal requirements, you can bring your (modified) vehicle for (re-)inspection within 8 weeks.
** If the moped/scooter has previously been admitted before January 1st 2006 or the vehicle has previously been registered in the Netherlands, please make an appointment with a RDW inspection station.
*** If the moped/scooter has an admittance date later than December 31st 2005 and the vehicle has been previously registered, please send in your application and following this an appointment can be made with RDW Testcentre.

The Government Road Transport Agency will only charge you the cost of the vehicle registration certificate and registration if the vehicle passes the test.

In addition to the above-mentioned inspections, the RDW Test Centre offers a number of inspections based on i.a. the inspection rate and the hourly rates of the inspector and track. We can only give you a cost indication for this.

The Ministry of Infrastructure and Water Management determines the applicable RDW rates annually. You can look these up on RDW's website or in the Government Gazette 

Cancellation

If you wish to cancel your appointment, you need to send an email to deze link opent in een nieuw venster[email protected] at least 2 (two) working days before the appointed day. If you don't meet this deadline, the RDW will charge you the full inspection rate.

Documents to Bring With You

  • A valid ID
    - A Dutch driving-licence or
    - A Dutch passport with a personal identification number (Citizen Service Number) or
    - An identity card with a personal identification number (Citizen Service Number).
    If your ID does not have your personal identification number (Citizen Service Number) on it, you need to bring an extract from the Civil Registry that states your Citizen Service Number. You can obtain this extract from your council. It should not be more than 3 months old.
  • Company card (if applicable)
  • Your confirmation of request (email incl. RDW order number included in the subject line, starting with a '2' and consisting of 9 digits)
  • A valid certificate of ownership
  • The original foreign vehicle registration certificate (complete set)
  • All available papers for the vehicle

Location of the RDW Test Centre

The address of the RDW Test Centre is: Talingweg 76, 8218 NX in Lelystad.

Report via the intercom when you arrive. You can wait for the inspection results in the waiting room and collect your vehicle afterwards. Children under 16 and pets are not allowed in the RDW Test Centre. You can only enter the inspection area when asked to do so by an RDW staff member.

You can also bring the vehicle before the agreed date. If you wish to do this, please contact us on telephone number (088) 0087406. You can contact us from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The RDW Test Centre is a closed-off area. Parking is at your own risk, and the RDW is not liable for any damage to your vehicle. Read also the General Conditions of Test Centre Lelystad.

Using the Roads

In order to use public roads on the day of the inspection, you need to apply for a 'eendagskentekenbewijs' (1-day vehicle registration certificat) This information is only available in Dutch.
